Funny Boy

I was out on the patio making some phone calls for Young Women's and Doug was inside watching Linkin. Linkin loves to look out our sliding glass window onto the patio. He thought it was especially fun because I was on the other side of the door. He started rubbing his face all over the window and smashing it against the glass. The more I would laugh the more he knew he was doing something funny. Here are some of my favorite pics from our adventure!

(Today Doug and I were driving home and we saw a CARDINAL land on a tree branch in front of us. It was beautiful! I have never seen one before. The red feathers were amazing! We were driving home from getting his wisdom teeth pulled but he was still able to shout out, "That's a Cardinal!" He took that as a sign the Cards will be winning the Super Bowl.)

Wanna See a Grown Man Cry?

Have you ever been jealous or bitter because of the love your husband has for his football team? I just don't understand the deep emotion that comes along with being a football fan. There is nothing at all I could possibly relate it to. The Cardinals will be playing in the Super Bowl on February 1. Doug is beyond words excited right now. Let's just say, after the Cardinals big win on Sunday he started CRYING!!!!! I am not joking! This man didn't even cry on our wedding day, but the Cards go to the Super Bowl and that gets a tear? Help me out ladies! :)
(The only regret I have was not getting a picture of my husband crying after the big win. That would have been priceless!)
With that, good luck Cardinals! I hope you win the big game! I don't know what Doug would do than, but I think it would be fun to find out. :)

Happy Birthday Alexandra

Alexandra turned 3 on Sunday. The family got together for a fun little party for her at my parents house. Britany combined Alexandra's two favorite things, cake and Strawberry Short Cake. There were Strawberry Short Cake balloons and decorations that looked so cute. Instead of singing Happy Birthday to her, the kids just stuck their hands in the frosting and took a few licks. (Alexandra doesn't really like being the center of attention.) The kids thought it was the coolest thing ever to actually be allowed to stick their fingers in the cake and lick the frosting.

The cake was dished up and handed out, but the only problem was none of the adults wanted to eat it once the kids had their way with the cake....

Well, almost all of the adults. Jess and I picked through the parts where there weren't any finger holes and ate the yummy cake! I was only planning on taking a few bites so I didn't sit down, I just jumped up on the chairs. My sister took the opportunity to take an incriminating photo!

CARDS WIN!!! CARDS WIN!!!!

Arizona 33 Carolina 13

The Arizona Cardinals are one game away from going to the Super Bowl! Doug is absolutely in heaven! The Cards need to beat the Eagles at home at the University of Phoenix Stadium to go to the Super Bowl! Send all of your good karma and positive thoughts there way. We're going to the Super Bowl baby!

(I told Doug when we first started dating almost six years ago that if the Cards ever made it to the Super Bowl I would personally buy him tickets to the fifty yard line. Who knew it might actually happen. I don't have to pay up on that agreement, do I?)

Go Cardinals Baby!!!

(We took this picture right after the Cardinals won! I swear he didn't smile this big on our wedding day! ha ha)

Doug is a huge Cardinals fan. He has been since he was a little boy. Before he was a member, him and his family had season tickets and went to the games every single Sunday. This was back when they played at the ASU Stadium too and the seats were concrete and not comfortable at all. When Doug found out that the Cardinals were going to be in the playoffs and the game was on a Saturday, the first thing he did was jump up and buy tickets for us to go. We had the best time every! The game was so much fun! I have never been to a professional football game before. We went a few years ago during preseason, but I don't think that counts. The Cardinals stadium is absolutely outrageous. It was a sea of red wearing Cardinal fans. I swear it almost brought a tear to Doug's eyes comparing the amount of support the Cardinals got at this game to the games of old and the ASU Stadium. :) The best part about the game was that WE WON!!!!! The stadium was so loud the entire game, but once it was over and we won, it was wild! Congrats to the Cardinals and all of their fans out there who have been waiting a long time for this one! Most of all, congrats to Doug! You needed this one baby! Go Cards Go!

I think picture is funny because it looks like we are all awkward and on a first date or something. We were trying to get a good picture of us with the field in the background. Looks more like we are afraid of getting cooties though. :)

Were did the time go?

I have to do a sappy post, sorry. One month from today my little baby boy will be ONE YEAR OLD!!!! I can't believe my baby is in years (or year). What happened to just being months old? I thought I would be excited, and I am, but I am a little bit sad. He is growing up so fast. Each stage he goes through and step he takes in growing up is so excited but he is getting more and more independent each day. Gone is the time I could just cuddle my little buddy and hold him all day. Now it's pulling my hair and destroying things. He is such a cutie I love him so much! I guess if I want a little cuddle bug I should just get pregnant, right?! (kidding)

Linkin, in one month you will be one. May this month last a long time! :) I love you little buddy!

We Made It!

I can't believe it's true, but Doug and I made it through Christmas and New Years without having either of us end up in the hospital! Hooray! Last December was the start of our health issues. On December 15th last year (my graduation date), Doug ended up going to the emergency room for some horrible stomach pains. He had been having them for six months and the doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong. Finally, an ER doctor figured out he had Gal Stones. He was sent out of the hospital and told to go see a surgeon to get them removed. We saw the surgeon a few days later and he immediately admitted Doug to the hospital. The following day his Gal Bladder was removed. It was so bad that they had to drain the Gal Bladder before they could remove it. It was highly infected with gain green. Since they had to drain it, his entire body got infected as well. They had to leave a tube in his side to drain the infection. He was transferred to the ICU so they could keep a closer watch on his blood cells. The next day, his lungs collapsed because of the pain he was feeling. All in all, he was in the hospital for about a week and a half. They let him leave on December 23rd. I was sooooo excited that I was going to have him home for Christmas. The only problem was he had to come home with his tube in his side. A few days later they removed the tube and all was suppose to be fine. On January 2nd we went back to the hospital because he almost passed out at the mall. He was readmitted to the hospital with an abscess in the location of his Gal Bladder. The infection in his body started to build up again. This time he ended up getting Pancreatitis at the hospital as a side effect from a procedure. He was in the hospital for a total of 26 days. (I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with Linkin) I had Linkin a month later and had health issues of my own and Linkin ended up being Colic. After that was all cleared up, Doug blew his ACL and had surgery again. 2008 was the year of health issues and surgeries for the Hall family. Here's to hoping 2009 is full of GOOD HEALTH and happiness! (sorry to be such a downer)

The most amazing thing from 2008 that was worth all of those health issues and more was the fact we had our amazing son Linkin Douglas Hall on February 2, 2008. The day that changed our lives forever! We love you Linkin.
